Virgate woody shrub to 0.8 m tall, single-stemmed reseeder (?). Branches: numerous erect main branches with a few lateral flowering branchlets 2-10 mm long, puberulous with hairs reflexed, a few being gland-tipped, bark flaking irregularly, no infrafoliar ridges. Leaves 3-nate, erect, subimbricate, 1.6 x 0.6 mm, elliptic, acute, flattened adaxially, rounded abaxially, puberulous, ciliate with a few sessile glands, narrowly sulcate; petiole 0.4 mm long, adpressed, glabrous. Inflorescence: flowers 3-nate in 2 whorls, umbel-like, terminal on main branches and shorter secondary branchlets; pedicel 0.15 mm long, glabrous; bract partially recaulescent, approximate to calyx, 1.2 x 0.2 mm, foliaceous, pubescent, edged with sessile glands, reddish; bracteoles 2, 1.0 x 0.2 mm, attached to base of calyx, otherwise like the bract. Calyx 4-lobed, 1.0 x 1.2 mm, cyathiform, the tube enlarging from 0.8 up to 1.4 mm long in fruiting stage, puberulous on upper half, reddish, lobes 0.2 mm long, triangular, edged with large sessile glands, sulcus broad about as long as lobe. Corolla 4-lobed 2.0 x 1.3 mm, obovoid colliculate, glabrous, pink with red tips to the colliculae, lobes erect, 0.2 mm long, broadly rounded, fimbriolate. Stamens 4, free, very far exserted; filaments up to 2x as long as corolla, weak, at first straight becoming variously flexed, glabrous; anthers dorsally attached near the base, obovate, subfalcate, muticous; thecae 1.0 x 0.6 mm, oblong, obtuse, sparsely and minutely aculeate on edges, dark brown; pore 1/4 the length of theca; pollen in monads. Ovary 1-locular, 0.5 x 0.5 mm, asymmetrically obovoid, puberulous on upper half; ovule 1, pendulous, placenta apical and somewhat laterally displaced; style arising from side of ovary, up to 2x as long as corolla, exserted; stigma peltate. Fruit indehiscent, ellipsoid; pericarp thick with a hard thick mesocarp and slightly thickened endocarp, crystals present; seeds ellipsoid with very thin smooth testa, cells elongate with jigsawed anticlinal walls and no pits.
