Characteristics

Erect shrub up to 30 cm (1 ft) or so. Branches pubescent. Leaves 4-nate, 2-4 mm long, incurved, narrow-ovate to ovate, sulcate to open-backed, glabrous, ciliate, bristle-tipped. Flowers in 14-to 16-flowered umbels; peduncles up to 10 mm long, viscid; bracts 2-3 mm long, median to near basal. Sepals 2.5 mm long, oblong-lanceolate, keeled, bristle-tipped. Corolla 7 mm long, urccolate or tubular-campanulate, narrowed at the throat, glabrous, viscid, pale, almost white to dark rose-coloured at the throat; lobes 2 mm long, stellato-patent, acute, dark rose. Filaments dilated below the anthers; anthers included, 1.5 mm long, lateral, ovate, prognathous, muticous, lanate at the bottom of the lobes, more rarely shortly bearded at the apex. Ovary turbinate, glabrous; style manifest; stigma capitellate.
