Branches: several main wiry branches with numerous secondary recurved branchlets 0.2-10 m long, internodes as long as or somewhat shorter than the leaves, young branches pubescent with recurved hairs and a few shortly stalked glands. Leaves 3-nate, erect, 1.5 x 0.5 mm, elliptic, adaxially flattened, abaxially obtuse and narrowly sulcate, apex broadly rounded, glabrous and edged with small sessile glands; petiole 0.2 mm long, adpressed, glabrous and edged with small sessile glands. Inflorescence: flowers 3-nate in 3 whorls, in condensed head-like racemes, terminal on secondary branchlets and sometimes main branches; pedicel 0.1 mm long, puberulous; bract in lowest whorl leaf-like and non-recaulescent becoming partially recaulescent to middle position and smaller, 0.5-1.2 mm long, bracteose and pink, edged with small sessile glands and hairs; bracteoles absent. Calyx 4-lobed, 1.2 x 0.5 mm, cyathiform, obtusely 4-angled, the angles alternating with the lobes and with midrib forming a distinct white ridge below each sulcus, pink, glabrous; lobes 0.3 mm long, broadly deltoid, acute, ciliate, subbroadly sulcate, the sulcus as long as the lobe. Corolla 4-lobed, 1.7 x 0.5 mm, tubular-campanulate, finely colliculate, light pink; lobes erect, 0.15 mm long, obtuse, entire. Stamens 4, free, exserted to manifest; filaments 0.7 mm long, straight, glabrous; anthers dorsally attached near base, bilobed, oblong, muticous; thecae erect, 0.4 x 0.2 mm, oblong, dark brown, glabrous; pore 1/3 of theca; pollen in monads. Ovary 1-locular, 0.5 x 0.2 mm, acute, glabrous; ovule 1, pendulous, placenta apical; nectaries well developed around the base; style 2.6 mm long exserted; stigma simple truncate. Fruit indehiscent, 1.7 x 1.0 mm, ovoid to pear-shaped; pericarp very thin, transparent, crystals present; seed ellipsoid, testa very thin transparent, cells slightly elongate with anticlinal walls irregularly undulate to jigsawed, no pits present.
