Characteristics

Erect shrub, 0.2-0.6 m high. Leaves erect-incurved, imbricate, 1.6-2.7 mm long, linear, deeply sulcate. Flowers on short, lateral branchlets, somewhat copious, coralline. Calyx 2.1 mm long, obconic, thick, rigid, scarious, glabrous, concave, sepals strongly keeled, somewhat truncate at base; lobes ovate, erect, acute, ciliolate or naked, 3-4 times length of tube. Corolla ± 4.2 mm long, between funnel-shaped and cyathiform, rosy to pink; lobes slightly spreading, rounded, ± as long as tube. Anthers dorsifixed above base, oblong, obtuse, minutely scaberulous, reddish brown, 1.0-1.3 mm long; pore 1/3-2/5 length of theca. Ovary turbinate, silky-villous on conical summit; style exserted, slender; stigma subsimple or capitellate. Flowering time June-Oct.
