Characteristics

A diffuse and slender or small, compact shrublet about 15 cm (6 in) high. Branches slender, minutely hispid. leaves 3-nate up to 6 mm long or rarely longer, spreading from adpressed petioles, somewhat widely spaced, thick and rounded, sulcate, glabrous or with a few bristles at the apex. Flowers 3-nate, on modified branchlets bearing minute, bract-like leaves; peduncles 15-18 mm long with minute sessile glands; bracts, 1 mm long, median to remote, edged with minute sessile glands and with an apical tuft of tiny bristles. Sepals 1.5 mm long, lanceolate, keeled, glabrous and edged with minute sessile glands where in contact with the corolla and with an apical tuft of bristles. Corolla 2 mm long, 3-3.5 mm wide, pink, glabrous, extremely viscid with numerous small glands. Filaments 1 mm long, broad and flattened; anthers exserted, 1 mm long, subterminal, oblong, glabrous, muticous; pore 3/4 the length of the cell. Ovary glabrous; style exserted and curved over at right-angles above the anthers; stigma capitate.
