Characteristics

Branches slender, densely clothed with submatted short grey plumose hairs; leaves 3-nate, erect, imbricate, linear, subobtuse, sulcate, glabrous, about 1 lin. long; flowers numerous, densely clustered; pedicels slender, less than 1 lin. long; bracts, 2 subapproximate, 1 remote, small; sepals lanceolate, acute, keeled, scarious, glabrous, coloured, about 1/2 lin. long; corolla tubular-campanulate, slightly widened at the mouth, glabrous, about 1 lin. long; segments about 1/4 the length of the tube; authers exserted, lateral, oblong, obtuse, slightly incurved, 3/5 lin. long, aristate; pore varying from nearly orbicular 1/5-1/4 the length of the cell, to elliptical 1/4-1/3 the length of the cell; awns about 1/3 the length of the cell, recurved; style exserted; stigma capitellate; ovary glabrous.

Calyx sepals ± 1 mm long, lanceolate, acute, keeled, scarious, glabrous. Corolla ± 2 mm long, tubular-cyathiform to urceolate, slightly widened at mouth, glabrous; lobes ± 1/4 length of tube, pink. Anthers exserted, lateral, 1.3 mm long, oblong, obtuse, slightly incurved, aristate; pore varying from nearly orbicular 1/5-1/4 length of theca, to elliptic 1/4-1/3 length of theca; appendages ± 1/3 length of theca, recurved. Ovary glabrous; style exserted; stigma capitellate. Flowering time Aug.-Nov.
Like E. granulosa and E. harveyana , erect shrublet to 1(-2) m. Flowers small, narrowly cup-shaped to urn-shaped, pink, with exserted anthers.
