Characteristics

Stout, erect shrub up to 90 cm (3 ft) or so. Branches straight or flexuous, densely grey-woolly, glabresccnt. Leaves 3-nate, 4-3 mm long spreading, linear or subfiliform, sulcate, obtuse, very slender sometimes, puberulous, glabrescent. Flowers 3-nate, numerous; peduncles 2-3 mm long, pubescent; bracts small, subbasal. Sepals 1.5-2 mm long, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, acute, keel-tipped, pubescent. Corolla 6 mm long, ovoid or ovoid-oblong, mouth slightly contracted, densely but not very closely lanate with somewhat long twisted hairs, white; lobes erect, short, about as long as the tube. Filaments slender, bent below the anthers; anthers included, less than 2/3 mm long, lateral, cuneate-oblong, append!culate; pore 1/2 the length of the cell; awns about 3/4 the length of the cell, narrow. Ovary turbinate, hispidulous; style included, compressed; stigma capitate.
