Characteristics

Dwarf, straggling shrublet procumbent or hanging in damp, shady clefts. Branches numerous, spreading, slender, clothed with a few long glandular hairs, glabrescent. Leaves 3-nate, 2-3 mm long, spreading, elliptical, orbicular or subovate, very obtuse, thin, flat, often revolute, nearly glabrous, ciliate. Flowers mostly axillary, rather few; peduncles 4-7 mm long, slender, hispid; bracts median, minute. Sepals 1.0-1.5 mm long, ovate, pubescent. Corolla 3 mm long, obconic-cyathiform, mouth widened, puberulous, pale rose; lobes erect, more than half the length of the tube, broad, obtuse. Anthers included, about 1 mm long, lateral, variously shaped, oblong-cuneate to semiorbicular, muticous; pore small. Ovary ovoid, glabrous; style included; stigma capitellate.
