Characteristics

Shrub up to 60 cm (2 ft), erect or hanging from wet, rocky ledges, glabrous except where noted. Branches virgate, slender, somewhat channelled by the decurrent leaf cushions. Leaves 3-nate, 8-12 mm long, erect to spreading and incurved, imbricate at first but later not or scarcely so, linear, keeled, faintly sulcate, ciliate or naked, acute. Flowers axillary in a somewhat lax pseudo-raceme up to 15 cm long; peduncles 2 mm long; bracts approximate, linear, subfoliaceous, ciliate or naked, small. Sepals 5 mm long, lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, acuminate, keeled, scarious below, foliaceous above, ciliate or naked, coloured. Corolla 6-8 mm long, narrow-ovoid or tubular-inflated, more or less contracted at the throat, 4-sided, pale yellow; lobes1.5-2 mm long, spreading-recurved, ovate, obtuse or subacute. Filaments filiform; anthers included, 0.7 mm long, lateral, oblong, obtuse at both ends, pallid, muticous; pore 1/3 the length of the cell. Ovary oblong, substipitate or at least contracted at the base; style included; stigma capitellate, sometimes minute.
