Variable, erect shrub, 0.6-2.0 m high; branches flexuous. Leaves 3(4)-nate, 5.25-6.30 mm long, linear to narrowly elliptic, acute, glabrous, margins ciliolate or naked. Flowers 3-nate, erect or spreading. Calyx sepals 6.3-8.4 mm long, lanceolate, acuminate, keel-tipped, scarious, glabrous. Corolla 23.1-50.4 mm long, tubular and equal, glabrous, dry, viscidulous, costate or smooth, red below, greenish yellow near tip; lobes short. Filaments ± dilated and ovate at base, gradually contracted and tapering upwards; anthers included or subexserted, linear with a sharp projecting point in front of base, muticous, 2.10-3.15 mm long. Ovary glabrous, rarely hirsutulous. Flowering time all year.
