Inflorescence 4–10 cm. long, bearing few (3–6) secund racemes; racemes 1.5–3 cm. long with a shortly pilose triquetrous rhachis bearing single or paired spikelets.. Spikelets lanceolate, 3.5–5.5 mm. long, thinly pilose; lower glume lanceolate, 4/5 as long as the spikelet, acuminate; upper glume acuminate or with an awn-point up to 1 mm. long; lower floret with a palea; upper lemma obscurely mucronate.
