Leaves digitately divided, probably held erect; leaflets (1–3)5, mostly paler beneath, 6–25 × 1–4.4 cm, lanceolate, acute, cuneate, glabrescent above except for some hairs on the midrib and nerves, densely silvery hairy beneath or sometimes only sparsely hairy on the midrib and nerves; venation raised on both surfaces; petiole 1–3 cm long; rhachis 0.5 mm long; petiolules 2–3 mm long; stipules 0.6–3.5 cm × 2–5 mm, lanceolate, silvery hairy, closely veined.
Racemes terminal and in the upper axils, dense, cylindrical, the flowering part 5.5–17 cm long; peduncle (including what is strictly inflorescence-rhachis but without flowers) 6–20 cm long, silvery hairy; pedicels obsolete; floral bracts 1.5 cm × 1.5 mm, linear-lanceolate, appressed hairy; bracts at the base of the rhachis larger, 1.5–2.2 cm × 2.5–4 mm, lanceolate, silvery hairy.
Standard brown or greenish-yellow with purple-brown veining or yellow, 9–11 × 4–5.5 mm, obovate-elliptic, with long hairs and conspicuous glands in the middle area outside and extending down the claw; wings and keel dull yellow or green.
Calyx covered with long appressed white or brown hairs and glands, 6–8 mm long; lobes rounded-oblong, shorter than the tube.
Pods 1.3–1.5 × 0.8–1.5 cm, oblong or ovate-oblong, covered with long hairs and conspicuous glands.
Suffrutex or suberect herb with a woody rootstock, 0.5–1.5 m tall.
Stems somewhat angular, shaggy with ± appressed silvery hairs.
