Characteristics

Leaves 1-foliolate (or 3-foliolate in a variant in Angola); leaflets 4.5–11 × 0.7–5.5 cm, elliptic, subacute and mucronulate at the apex, cuneate, pubescent above and on the nerves beneath, but most of the lower surface is glabrous though covered with small yellow glands; young unfolded leaves hirsute; main nerves impressed above, prominent beneath, tertiary venation ± raised above; petiole 2–3 mm long; stipules 10 × 1.5–2 mm, lanceolate, pubescent, veined.
