Perennial herb with single erect unbranched stem ± 15 cm. tall from a woody tuberous rootstock 4·5 cm. long and 1·5 cm. wide.. Stems angular,somewhat zigzag, with adpressed greyish hairs above, glabrescent below.. Leaves unifoliolate; leaflets paler beneath, linear-oblong or linear-lanceolate, 3·5–19 cm. long, 0·6–1·7 cm. wide, acute to rather rounded but mucronulate at the apex, narrowly rounded at the base, glabrous above, densely covered with silvery-grey adpressed hairs beneath; venation raised on both surfaces; petiole ±2 mm. long; petiolule ±1 mm. long; stipules 1·6–2·2 cm. long, 1·5–2·5 mm. wide, hairy, veined, leaf-opposed.. Racemes terminal and axillary; rhachis ±2 cm. long; peduncle ± 1 cm. long, hairy; bracts sub-persistent, lanceolate, 1 cm. long, 1·5 mm. wide, hairy, veined.. Calyx covered with long tangled hairs, 4–6 mm. long; lobes triangular, acuminate, longer than the tube.. Standard linear-oblong, spathulate, 1·2 cm-long, 3–4 mm. wide, with rather sparse adpressed grey hairs..
