Characteristics

Monoecious, spineless, glabrous succulent, up to 150 x 250 mm, with a rosette of branches from a stout stem, branches ascending, ± clavate, 15-30 mm thick, tuberculate. Leaves soon deciduous, linear, 5-15 x 1-2 mm. Cyathia many around apex of each branch, each on an often persistent peduncle 3-16 mm long in axil of tubercle, 5-6 mm diam., with 5 green to brown glands each with 2-4 fine processes on outer margins. Capsule sessile, 6-7 mm diam., occasionally pubescent.
