Spineless, glabrous shrub, up to 1 m high, branches 3-5 mm in diam., green, articulated, smooth. Leaf-rudiments 2-3 mm long, spathulate, with shiny, smooth, brownish stipules, shortly petiolate. Cyathia many, 1-3 together terminating some branches, 2-4 mm in diam.; glands 5, green. Flowering time Aug.-Mar. Capsule 3.0-3.5 mm in diam., obtusely 3-angled, dull green, pubescent, exserted for 2-3 mm.
