Characteristics

Glabrous perennial herb with a thick fleshy rhizomatous rootstock and annual stems to 60 cm. high.. Leaves sessile, ± glaucous, obovate-lanceolate, to 9 × 1.5 cm., base cuneate, apex rounded apiculate, margin entire.. Cymes axillary and in terminal 3–5-branched umbels, with primary rays to 12 cm. long and forking 3–4 times; bracts sessile, deltoid, ± 2 × 2 cm., the lower ones larger and longer, base truncate to subcordate, apex apiculate..
