Intricately branched woody puberulous shrublet to 30(–80) cm. high, from a subfleshy rootstock 1–2 cm. thick; terminal branchlets very numerous, thin and usually contracted, with leaves subfasciculate.. Leaves oblanceolate, to 18(–35) × 8 mm., base cuneate, apex obtuse, margin entire, lamina puberulous, glabrescent beneath; petiole 1 mm. long; glandular stipules minute, pointed.. Cymes terminal, reduced to a solitary sessile cyathium, surrounded by 2–5 obovate puberulous bracts ± 2.5 mm. long.. Cyathia 2.5 × 4 mm., with very finely puberulous broadly cup-shaped involucres; glands 5, transversely elliptic, ± 1 × 2.5 mm., ± 2-lipped with a slightly wavy margin; lobes rounded, ± 1.2 mm. long, margin fringed.. Male flowers: bracteoles strap-shaped, apices feathery; stamens 2.5 mm. long, with pedicels puberulous above.. Female flower: ovary sessile, puberulous; styles 1.8 mm. long, puberulous, joined to halfway, with spreading, flattened, rugose, shortly bifid apices..
