Erect shrub or small tree to 5 m. high, with dark brown bark; branches puberulous when young.. Leaves alternate or occasionally fasciculate, subsessile, panduriform, to 6 × 3 cm., base cuneate, apex apiculate to rounded, margin entire, lamina puberulous when young, upper surface ± glabrous at maturity, midrib prominent beneath; petiole to 2 mm. long; stipules glandular.. Cymes terminal, consisting of a central cyathium with 2(–3) lateral cyathia on glabrous rays to 1 cm. long; bracts sessile, subcircular, to 1.7 mm. wide, pubescent at first becoming glabrous, white to yellow, conspicuous.. Cyathia subsessile, or the central one on a peduncle to 5 mm. long, ± 6.5 × 12 mm.,with cup-shaped involucres, glabrous; glands 5, transversely elliptic, ± 2 × 3.5 mm., shallowly saucer-shaped, yellow; lobes transversely elliptic, ± 2 × 3 mm., margin deeply fringed, ciliate.. Male flowers many: bracteoles fan-shaped, deeply divided, apices feathery; stamens ± 8 mm. long, anther-thecae with a tuft of fine hairs 1 mm. long..
