Much-branched, spreading, woody shrub to 2.5 m. high, with greyish brown bark; young branches puberulous.. Leaves alternate, occasionally fasciculate, petiolate, obovate to panduriform, to 5 × 3 cm., base rounded, apex truncate to shallowly emarginate, lamina pubescent, sparsely so at maturity, midrib prominent beneath; petiole to 8 mm. long; stipules filamentous to 1 mm. long.. Cymes terminal, consisting of a central cyathium with (2–)3 lateral cyathia on pubescent rays to 3 cm. long, forking once; bracts sessile, obovate, ± 1.5 × 1 cm., pubescent beneath, greenish yellow.. Cyathia sessile, or the central one on a peduncle ± 2 (–10) mm. long, ± 5.5 × 10 mm., with minutely pubescent cup-shaped involucres; glands 5, spreading, transversely elliptic, ± 2.5 × 3.5 mm., flat to very shallowly saucer-shaped, yellow; lobes transversely elliptic, ± 1.5 × 3 mm., margin fringed.. Male flowers many: bracteoles fan-shaped, deeply divided, apices feathery; stamens ± 6.5 mm. long, anther-thecae shortly pilose..
