Characteristics

Much-branched woody shrub to 60 cm. high; young branches puberulous.. Leaves puberulous, subsessile, alternate, obovate, to 1.5 × 1.3 cm., base rounded, apex rounded to emarginate, margin entire, ± undulate; petiole to 2 mm. long; glandular stipules minute, sharply pointed.. Cymes terminal, of solitary cyathia on peduncles 1.5 mm. long; bracts ± opposite, a little smaller than the leaves.. Cyathia ± 5.5 × 8.5 mm., with puberulous, funnel-shaped involucres; glands 5, spreading, transversely elliptic to 2.5 × 4 mm., shallowly saucer-shaped, greenish yellow; lobes rounded, ± 1.5 × 2 mm., margin fringed.. Male flowers: bracteoles linear, deeply laciniate, feathery; stamens 6 mm. long, with pedicels occasionally sparsely hairy above.. Female flower: ovary subsessile, densely puberulous; styles ± 4.5 mm. long, joined for ± 3 mm., pubescent, with spreading deeply bifid apices.. Entire capsule not seen, puberulous and probably subsessile, obtusely 3-lobed and ± 5 mm. in diameter.. Seeds ovoid, base truncate, 3 × 2.5 mm., greyish brown, areolate.
