Characteristics

Glabrous, spineless shrub, 0.5-2.0 m high, much branched above base, branches 3-6 mm in diam., bright yellow-green. Leaves soon deciduous, 5-15 x 2-5 mm, lanceolate, without stipules, sessile. Cyathia terminal, sessile male cyathium up to 15 mm in diam. surrounded by 5-7 bisexual cyathia ± 7 mm in diam. on branches 6-10 mm long; glands 5-8, entire, yellow. Flowering time May-Nov. Capsule 5-6 mm in diam., obtusely 3-angled, glabrous, usually exserted for 3-6 mm; seeds with cap-like brownish caruncle.
