Leaves deflexed, narrowly lanceolate, to 12(–17) × 1(–1.3) cm., base rounded, apex obtuse, apiculate, margin entire, revolute, midrib prominent on the lower surface which is sparsely pubescent; petiole puberulous, to 1 cm. long.. Cymes in 3-branched umbels with primary rays to 12 cm. long, forking twice; bracts similar to the leaves.. Cyathia sessile, 4 × 5.5 mm., with shortly puberulous purplish-red broadly cup-shaped involucres; glands 4, transversely elliptic, ± 4 mm. wide, spreading, dark red; lobes subquadrate, 2 mm. long, laciniate with ciliate margin.. Male flowers: bracteoles laciniate with feathery apices; stamens 5.5 mm. long, puberulous.. Female flower: ovary densely pilose; styles 3 mm. long, joined halfway with bifid apices, sparsely puberulous below.. Capsule exserted on a curved densely pilose pedicel 6 mm. long, subglobose, 5 mm. in diameter, very densely papillose-pilose, purplish red.. Seeds ovoid, 4 × 2.5 mm., closely tuberculate, greyish brown.
