Annual, caespitose herb to 14 cm high.. Stem branched.. Leaves subtending inflorescence subsessile, spatulate-ovate to oblanceolate, 10–32 mm long, 3–11 mm wide, not exceeding the subtended flower fascicle, subobtuse, cuneate at base.. Inflorescences axillary fascicles; pedicels short, 1–3 mm long.. Flowers mauve, purplish to blue.. Calyx tube 0.5–1 mm long; lobes elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, 2–2.3 mm long, ± 0.8 mm wide, sometimes apically winged at the keel, obtuse or subacute, with 1 distinct nerve.. Corolla tube cylindrical to urceolate, 1.4–2.1 mm long, smooth; lobes oblong-ovate or lanceolate, 0.9–1.2 mm long, ± 0.6 mm wide, acute.. Filaments very short, ± 0.3 mm long; anthers ovoid to ellipsoid, ± 0.3 mm long.. Ovary obovoid, 1.3–2 mm long, 0.7–1 mm diameter; style 0.8–1.6 mm long; stigma minute, ± bilobed..
