Leaves alternate; blade linear to narrowly obovate, thick, margins entire, white-hairy; young leaves also glandular-pubescent. Heads radiate, solitary; peduncles glandular-pubescent. Involucral bracts 3-or 4-seriate, imbricate; hairy and glandular-pubescent. Flowers: ray florets blue-violet; disc florets yellow; Jul., Oct.? Fruit with cypsela obovate, brownish, shortly hairy. Pappus uniseriate, of barbellate bristles, of equal length, present in ray and disc cypsela.
