Dwarf shrub, up to 300 mm high; much branched, white-hairy, diffuse. Leaves opposite, sessile, basally weakly connate around stem; blade narrowly ovate to narrowly obovate, apex acute and recurved, margins entire, revolute, with long, white hairs. Heads radiate, large, solitary; peduncles with white spreading hairs and with stalked glands. Involucral bracts 2-or 3-seriate, equal in size, hairy and glandular. Flowers: ray florets blue; disc florets yellow; Feb.-Oct. Fruit with cypsela elliptic, black-green, with short hairs. Pappus uniseriate, of barbellate bristles, of similar length, present in ray and disc cypsela.

Disc florets yellow. Flowering time Feb.-Aug. Pappus of barbellate bristles, present in both ray and disc florets. Cypselae elliptic, with short hairs.
