Perennial herb, tuber turnip-shaped. Stems erect, not climbing, few branches, becoming woody; pubescent. Leaves sessile; blade linear, 20-35 x 2-3 mm, longitudinally regularly undulate, upper surface glabrous, on lower surface only midrib pubescent. Flowers: inflorescence sessile, 3-6-flowered; corona white, tube ± 3 mm high; corolla tube campanulate, 2.5 mm high, lobes linear to narrowly ovate, 4-6 mm long, green to brown; Jan.-Mar. Fruit a follicle.
A herb. It has a tuber and the plant keeps growing from year to year. The stems are erect. They are hairy and become woody. The leaves are 2-3.5 cm long by 2-3 mm wide. The flowers are brownish.
Like F. comaru but leaves crisped and margins not recurved, flowers brownish, usually with short petals, fruits warty and seeds with hairs all around margin.
