Cultivation

Origin: in Eau Claire, Wis., by C.H. Beaver. Introd. in 1925. Considered to be Dr. Burrill × Howard 17; selected about 1921. Tree: hardy; very productive; well adapted to light, sandy soils. Not to be confused with the Beaver variety of unknown parentage found about 1901 by J.F. Beaver, Dayton, Ohio and introduced commercially in 1906. Fruit: quality only fair; ships very well.
