Origin: in Carver, Mass., by James H. Jennings. Introd. in 1951. Parentage unknown; discovered in 1949. Tree: hardy; vigorous, withstands dry weather very well; susceptible to leaf spot but considered tolerant of virus. Fruit: large; shape varies, being bell-shaped in early season but pointed later; skin pink; flesh not too firm, flavor very good; resembles Empire; matures early, with Earlidawn.
