Cultivation

Origin: in Agassiz, British Columbia, Canada, by Hugh A. Daubeny, Canada Dept. of Agr., Res. Sta. Introd. in 1968. Siletz × Puget Beauty. Selected in 1960, tested as 59-22-38 and BC3. Tree: vigorous, with long petioles and tendency to sprawl; runner production profuse; very hardy; productive; tolerant to most races of Phytophthora fragariae; susceptible to fruit rot; recommended as a replacement for Siletz in the Pacific Northwest. Fruit: medium to large; uniform and conical; skin glossy, medium red; flesh medium red, moderately firm; ripens a few days earlier than Northwest.
