Cultivation

Late-midseason, short-day strawberry adapted to perennial matted row and annual plasticulture production in temperate climates. Origin: Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, by C.A. Weber. Jewel × Clancy, crossed 2000; selected 2002, Geneva, NY; tested as NY02-56. Tree: vigor strong; stolons abundant; yield high; growth habit spreading; resistant to powdery mildew. Fruit: large; wide conical, similar to Clancy; skin medium dark red; flesh medium red; firm; flavor good; ripens late midseason, with Jewel and Clancy.
