Origin: in Baton Rouge, La., by Julian C. Miller, Louisiana Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1940. Blakemore × Klondike; cross made in 1933; selected in 1935. Tree: vigorous; produces runners freely; resistant to leaf spot; susceptible to leaf scorch. Apparently now superseded by other varieties (e.g., Headliner and Dabreak). Fruit: small; blunt conic; skin a light bright red, achenes yellow; flesh medium firm, subacid; matures over a long season; ships well; freezes well; dessert quality fair to medium; resembles Blakemore.
