Cultivation

A firm-fruit, high-yielding strawberry with a good shelf life. Origin: in Germany by H. Franz, D-Rohrmoos, DW-8061 Purthof. Orion × Nr. 83/68; introd. in 1992. Plant variety rights held by Maeder Samen, Moosgrasse 36, CH-3274 Buehl/Aargerg. Tree: shortday type; very high yield; very vigorous; winter hardy. Low susceptibility to powdery mildew, leaf spot, leaf scorch and root rots caused by Phytophthora cactorum and Rhizactonia solani. Fruit: very large; very firm; bright red; good flavor; very good shelf life; midseason ripening; moderately susceptible to Botrytis-caused rot.
