Tree: runner plants produced freely; leaf free from scorch; productive; flower clusters borne beneath leaves. Fruit: large in first part of season, later becoming medium sized; wedge or conic, uniform; skin rich red, not turning dark on holding, glossy, very attractive; achenes yellow, even with surface; flesh rich red throughout, juicy, subacid, aromatic, dessert quality high; shipping quality very good; ripens early, 4 days before Blakemore; firmer, earlier, more highly flavored than Howard 17.
