Cultivation

A winterplanted, shortday cultivar adapted to the growing conditions and climate of the southern coast of California. Origin: J. Sterrett, Murrieta, Calif. Pajaro open pollinated; selected in 1998 in Vista, Calif.; patented 2003. USPP 13,986. Tree: vigorous with many crowns; erect, dense and globose habit; requires minimal chilling; relatively resistant to powdery mildew. Fruit: large; conical; smooth and uniformly-shaped; flesh texture described as "peachlike"; early harvest season; and has good coldstorage qualities.
