Cultivation

Short-day strawberry adapted for central coast of California. Origin: Plant Sciences, Inc., Watsonville, CA, by S.M. Ackerman, S.D. Nelson, and M.D. Nelson. PS-1150 × PS-1269; crossed 1997; selected 1999; introd. 2005. USPP 17,312; 26 Dec. 2006. Tree: vigorous; large; light green in color; strongly concave leaf cross section; inflorescences above plant most of season; tolerant of two-spotted spider mites, aphids, and flower thrips, moderately tolerant of botrytis fruit rot, susceptible to powdery mildew and bacterial angular leaf-spot. Fruit: medium red; small; conical; flesh red, glossy, excellent firmness, good flavor; early, April through November.
