Origin: in Conrad, Iowa, by Harlow RockhIll. Introd. in 1923 by the R.M. Kellogg Co., Three Rivers, Mich. Early Jersey Giant × Progressive; cross made in 1916; selected in 1918; tested as Rockhill 26. Tree: large; vigorous; everbearer; makes very few runners; may be propagated by crown division; foliage dark green, healthy; grown in Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa and other northern states. Fruit: large; globose conic to wedge shaped, irregular; skin red to dark red; flesh firm, subacid, quality very good; ships well.
