A fresh-market, red-stele-resistant strawberry. Origin: in Invergowrie, Scotland, by R.J. McNicol, Scottish Crop Res. Inst. Rhapsody × Holiday; cross made in 1979; tested as SCRI 69EW30; introd. in 1994. Worldwide marketing rights held by Commercial Fruit Plants, Kent, U.K. Tree: high-yielding; abundant runner production. Has escaped crown rot and verticillium wilt despite exposure. Fruit: large; firm; glossy, red-crimson exterior; conic to long conic; difficult to cap; midlate season ripening 10 days after Elsanta; excellent shelf life; juicy; excellent flavor.
