Characteristics

Small shrub with spreading branches; stems pubescent. Leaves petiolate, oblong-linear or oblanceolate, 3–5 mm long, 1–2 mm wide; indumentum of young leaves dense, appressed, later the upper surface almost glabrous; petiole long-ciliate. Flowers in loose, spreading dichasia; bracts and bracteoles similar to leaves. Calyx c. 6.5 mm long; ridges of ribs glabrous, the remainder appressed-pilose especially near base; grooves puberulous. Petals 5, 8.5–9.5 mm long. Stamens 6. Style 3-branched; stigmas linear; ovules 13–20; placentation parietal.
