Characteristics

Small shrub; stems ascending to erect, much-branched above. Leaves sessile, linear, slightly curved, 3–6 mm long, c. 0.7 mm wide, shortly decurrent at base, appressed; upper surface minutely or sparsely scabrid-pilose, punctate; underside pubescent; sheath ciliate. Flowers solitary or in 3–5-flowered dichasia. Bracts similar to leaves; bracteoles petiolate; petiole flat. Calyx 5–5.5 mm long, grooves papillose in upper part. Petals 5, c. 9 mm long. Stamens 6. Style 3-branched; stigmas clavate-capitate; placentas 3, parietal; ovules 2 or 3 per placenta.
