Compact small shrub; stems with dense spreading or retrorse hairs, later glabrous. Leaves almost sessile, curved, 1.5–5 mm long, 0.5–1.5 mm wide; upper surface punctate, densely setulose; underside pubescent; margins loosely recurved; midrib often exposed, more prominent near base, setulose. Flowers in dichasia; bracts and bracteoles similar to leaves or with short petioles. Calyx 3.8–7.5 mm long, 4-or 5-ribbed; ribs with spreading or reflexed hairs; grooves puberulous. Petals 4–6, 6.6–11 mm long, pink. Stamens 4 or 6. Style 2-or 3-branched; stigmas linear to clavate; ovules 2 or 3; funicles reflexed; placentation basal. Seeds smooth.
