Characteristics

Small shrub; stems procumbent or ascending, puberulous. Leaves petiolate, 3–10 mm long, 1–4 mm wide, densely pubescent; upper surface glabrescent; midrib exposed; upper leaves oblong-linear or lanceolate; margins distinctly recurved; lower leaves ovate or oblong-elliptic; margins slightly recurved or flat. Flowers in short dichasia or false monochasia; bracts and bracteoles similar to leaves. Calyx cylindrical, 6–8.5 mm long; ribs 5, with short, dense, spreading setulose hairs; grooves papillose or puberulous. Petals 5, 8–13 mm long. Stamens 6. Style 3-branched; stigmas linear; ovules 3, basal; funicles long, recurved. Seeds smooth.
