Small shrub, prostrate or ascending; stems densely pubescent, becoming glabrous. Leaves petiolate, linear, 2–13 mm long, 0.5–1.8 mm wide; margins thick, revolute; upper surface glabrous, sometimes scabrid, lightly punctate; underside densely pubescent; midrib exposed, usually glabrous; petiole flattened. Flowers in short, dense dichasia, sometimes in open dichasia; bracts and bracteoles similar to leaves. Calyx cylindrical, 5–8 mm long, 5-or 6-ribbed, rarely 4-ribbed, almost glabrous. Petals 5–6, 6.5–12 mm long, pale pink or white. Stamens usually 6. Style usually 3-branched; stigmas linear; ovules 3 or more on each parietal placenta. Seeds smooth or rarely papillose.
