Characteristics

dark, pubescent; rachis to 3 mm long; petioles shorter or longer than the terminal leaflet. Inflorescence lax, few flowered, to 3 cm long, peduncle slender, puber-ulent; pedicels 1-2 mm long, glabrate; bracts ca. 1 mm long, pubescent. Flowers pink, ca. 7 mm long, the calyx pubescent, 4-fid about 2/3 way down, the standard longer than the wings, erect. Legume flat, oblong, slightly falcate, 3-4 cm long, ca. 5 mm wide, softly pubescent on the sides, the margin straight, the valves slightly compressed between the seeds, tardily dehiscent, ultimately curling; seeds 6-10, brown and mottled, compressed ovoid, 3-4 mm long.
