A perennial herb with slender, woody, almost prostrate, closely leafy, irregularly forking branches up to c. 35 cm long. Leaves up to 100 x 4 mm, linear, nearly glabrous, glandular-punctate. Heads sessile, solitary at each forking of the branches. Involucre campanulate, c. 8 x 8 mm, outer bracts with a short, linear, leaf-like appendage, inner acute with ciliate margins. Rays and disc yellow. Achenes 2 mm long, turbinate, silky-villous. Pappus of c. 10 elliptic hyaline scales, the alternate ones tipped with a slender awn.
Prostrate perennial herb, with branched stems. Leaves linear, filiform. Flowers yellow.
