Characteristics

Inflorescence erect, simple, 6–14 cm. high; peduncle straight, rigid, terete, 1–1.5 mm. thick, densely covered with a mixture of short and long gland-tipped hairs throughout; flowers 10–20, congested; scales numerous, similar to the bracts but c. twice as long; bracts basifixed, ovate-lanceolate, 1.5 mm. long; bracteoles similar but shorter; pedicels spreading and 3–5 mm. long at anthesis, elongating and strongly decurving in fruit, more or less densely covered with long and short gland-tipped hairs.

Corolla mauve or purple, 6–8 mm. long, covered externally with short gland-tipped hairs; superior lip ovate-oblong, with apex truncate, less than twice as long as the calyx lobes; inferior lip longer and broader, distinctly 3-lobed; palate slightly raised; spur cylindrical from a conical base, about twice as long as the inferior lip.
Ovary globose, densely covered with long gland-tipped hairs; style short; stigma inferior lip semi-circular, the superior lip obsolete.
Calyx lobes oblong-ovate, obtuse, subequal, c. 2 mm. long, 3-nerved, more or less densely covered externally with gland-tipped hairs.
Seeds numerous,, ovoid, 0.3–0.4 mm. long, reticulate; testa cells more or less isodiametric.
Capsule globose, 2.5–3 mm. in diam., densely covered with long gland-tipped hairs.
Leaves very numerous, densely rosulate, spathulate, up to 2.5 cm. × 5 mm.
Filaments falcate, c. 1 mm. long; anther-thecae subdistinct.
Traps numerous, up to 5 cm. long.
