Characteristics

Plants 150–250 mm tall. Free part of leaf 15–22 mm long, ending well below flowers. Spike 20–40 mm long, 10–25-flowered. Flowers well-spaced, semi-nodding, 5–6 × 5 mm, dark purplish red and green with darker stripes; labellum and callus dark purplish black. Dorsal sepal 4.5–5 × 4 mm, with dark bands, margins with short hairs. Lateral sepals widely divergent, 5 × 1.5 mm, base humped. Petals 3 × 1.3 mm, with dark bands, margins shortly hairy, apex sharply pointed. Labellum tremulous, widest above middle when flattened, 3 × 1.5 mm, fleshy, margins densely hairy, hairs short. Callus extending about three-quarters of way to labellum apex, tip often notched.
