Characteristics

Leaf 100–200 mm long, thin; free part 15–28 mm long, ending below flowers. Spike 15–40 mm long, 8–30-flowered. Flowers moderately crowded, semi-nodding, 3.5–4.5 × 4.5–5.5 mm, buds coal black, flowers blackish with reddish tones. Dorsal sepal 3–3.5 × 2.5 mm; margins glabrous. Lateral sepals widely divergent, 5.5–6 × 1.3 mm, base shallowly humped; apex bluntly pointed with prominent gland. Petals widely spreading, 2.2–2.7 × 1 mm; margins glabrous; apex recurved. Labellum stiffly hinged, elliptical to obovate, 2.2–2.6 × 1–1.3 mm, fleshy, black; margins irregular; apex with sharply pointed mucro. Callus broad near base then tapered, apex blunt, extending nearly to labellum apex.
