Characteristics

Leaf 120–400 mm long; free part 10–20 mm, ending below flowers. Spike 20–40 mm long, 5–23-flowered. Flowers moderately crowded, nodding, 7.5–8.5 × 7 mm, dark purplish black. Dorsal sepal 5 × 4 mm, with dark bands; margins with numerous coarse hairs. Lateral sepals erect, widely divergent, 7 × 1.5 mm; base strongly humped. Petals 4 × 1 mm, with dark bands; margins hairy, apex sharply pointed. Labellum tremulous, narrowly obovate, 5–6 × 2 mm, constricted near middle, thin-textured; margins with numerous coarse hairs to 1.2 mm long; apex sharply pointed, usually reflexed. Callus not extending to labellum apex.
