Characteristics

Leaf 150–300 mm long; free part 10–20 mm long, ending well below flowers. Spike 40–50 mm long, 5–30-flowered. Flowers well-spaced, semi-nodding, 5 × 4 mm, light red with dark reddish black labellum. Dorsal sepal 3 × 1.8 mm, with dark bands; margins glabrous; apex sharply pointed. Lateral sepals obliquely erect, widely divergent, 3.5 × 1.2 mm, base slightly humped. Petals 2.5 × 0.8 mm, with dark bands; margins glabrous; apex sharply pointed. Labellum stiffly hinged, elliptical, 5 × 2.5 mm, thick and fleshy; margins with short coarse hairs c. 0.25 mm long; apex pointed. Callus widest near middle then tapered, extending nearly to labellum apex.
